My wife has Asperger’s, and struggles a lot with things many people take for granted – managing finances, securing employment, keeping up with housework: she receives no support to help her learn to deal with these things without becoming stressed to the point of meltdown – I take care of almost everything necessary for functional day-to-day life. We can’t have children, and neither of us have siblings – when I die, my wife loses an advocate and support worker, not just her husband.
